In my life this week…
We have had a very slack week. I haven’t even pick up my camera so I have no photos to share. I guess since we have done our 180 required by the state I have decided to just stop. The girls are mostly just excited that the pool is opening on Saturday. The Man is officially finished with his semester – grades posted and everything. 4.0 AGAIN!!! Yea for him!
In our homeschool this week…
I gave Big Sis and Middle Sis instructions to regarding their science. Since Big Sis is headed into high school courses next year, I decided to work on some time management skills. Poor Middle Sis gets to go along for the ride. The instruction were…..”You have three chapters to finish before you are completed with science of the year. You can finish them in a few weeks or you can take all summer. You need to come to me when you have any questions or are ready to go over your study guides and take the test.” I’m not sure that I like the “hands-off” approach very much, but I think part of high school is learning to manage your time and complete tasks in a timely manner. We will see what happens. This experiment might back fire on me 🙂
Of course, Lil Sis heard the entire conversation. So she has asked to work at her own pace to finish her Bible curriculum and math curriculum. I also gave her the freedom with Bible. I told her that we would go through her math together and determine how fast she moves through it. Then she wanted to know if she could do 2 sections each day. I think she is ready for a summer break!
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
Memaw and Pop are in town this weekend. That always means that we will have a great time.
Last week I began reading the Grace in Africa series. Book 1 is The Call of Zulina which is about the life of a young girl name Grace whose father is an English slave-trader and mother is an African princess. The books are great historical fiction and really makes you think about slavery from the African slaves point of view. I am reading book 2, The Voyage of Promise.
I’m working on…
I am continuing to work on the ebook, 30 Days of Prayer for Our Nation, Click here to check out the website that is in progress.
A photo, video, link, or quote to share….
United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we’re sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we’re lying in the dark
There’s a shout heard ‘cross the eastern sky
For the Bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night
America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping
Will we be sleeping
My prayer is that America will wake up and turn back towards God. The ebook/prayer guide is just a small offering that I pray the Lord will use to bring great change.
