Confession Time – History Makeover!!!

I have a confession to make. We have a hard time getting history done at The Townsend Academy. I enjoy history a lot more than I did when I was in high school, but it is still not my favorite. I like historical fiction and historical movies. But just reading about history isn”t enjoyable to me.

I enjoy the unit studies about different countries that we did last year. These included Bold Believers in India and Bold Believers in Pakistan. These activity books from Kids of Courage were very hands on and fun!

I have to be more focus because I now have a high schooler!! We are going to study American history this year using Exploring America and America the Beautiful from Notgrass Publishing.  I am excited about the high school curriculum because Big Sis will receive one credit of Bible, one credit of history, and one credit of English with this curriculum.

I am going to supplement with videos. Because we love movies!!!

My goal is to make more of an effort in history for our home school this year!

My oldest used Notgrass curriculum for several years and my oldest daughter used the America the Beautiful when it first came out. I loved their material! You all will enjoy it so much!

It is great to hear from someone who has used the curriculum. It looks like it is going to be great but I don’t know anyone that has used it. I feel like I am jumping into the deep end without floaties 🙂 Still excited about it!!!!
